The chorus of " Crawling" originated from a demo called " Blue" and the beat from a demo called " Sky". " Super Zero" is different from "By Myself" from the 2-track demo version, with significantly different lyrics and Mike whispering "So, what do you think?" at the beginning. The version on this CD is believed to be recorded after the demo version on the LP Underground 12 CD (which is similar to this one but still different). " Points & Authority" came from a demo called "Oh No", which was released in the LP Underground X: Demos CD. The version of " Untitled" on this CD was recorded after the version on the LP Underground 11 CD. The original CD sold on eBay in 2004 dated from January 7, 2000, but the most common copy among collectors dates from February 11, 2000.     Initial sales were merely a handful but the band persisted. The financing for the original pressing was obtained through a publishing deal with Zomba Music Publishing after one of its representatives, Jeff Blue, heard the band playing at the Whisky a Go Go. Original versions of the EP are hard to find. Only about 1,000 copies were pressed and released. Later that year, the band changed its name to Linkin Park and Hybrid Theory was re-mixed and remastered for another limited release in 2001 (with minor changes) in the credits and artwork for members of Linkin Park's fan club. The album was recorded and self-released in through Mix Media. Hybrid Theory is the first EP by Hybrid Theory, a previous name of the band Linkin Park.
